paris!

I was in Paris over the weekend from November 23 till 26 and I had such great fun there! Of course, I also went hysterical at Tina at a)Effiel Tower and b)Notre Dame. Ask her for details.

We did lotsa sightseeing including, Louvre, Sacre Coer (which was just 5 minutes away by feet from our hostel), Effiel, Pantheon (which is way better than Rome's), Opera, Place Vendome, Rue St. Honore (posh shopping street with all the designers one can think of, and also, home to the Hermes flagship which did not allow Opera Winfrey in last summer) Galleries La Fayette, Champs Elysee (and of course the famous Louis Vuitton flagship), Arc de Triumph and lots more.

We also had crepes from road stands (for the cheap ones) and on Saturday night, we splurge on a great dinner near the Pantheon (my bill was 24 Euros for a coffee, main course on fish fillets, and a crepe with 2 scoops of ice cream). We also had bad cold take away from La Fayette Food hall on Friday and went to a nice japanese restaurent serving good teriyaki near Notre Dame. Before I left Paris on Sunday, I had a great breakfast at a charming little pattiserie near our hostel in Montmatre district.

We also did tons of shopping! I went to Fauchon (as someone once said: Fauchon is to Paris what Harrods is to London) and got lots of tea leaves! I also got my new wallet and a coin pouch from vuitton (now, my wallet match the reporter bag i have back home! ha) and we also went to Disneyland on Saturday, sort of, since the village outlet was near Disneyland. I bought a pair of black trousers and a merino wool vest from Agnes B and also, a Alain Figaret (sic) business shirt.

Love Paris for it's culture, food, shopping, and most surprisingly, the friendly Parisians and French we met while there! Now, who said the French were snooty? Ha.

Last night, before we went to Kaiko, few of us gathered in our room for some shots of Schnups and other various alcohol. Ha. Leaving to Dublin tonight to look for Sam and Jas and from Dublin to Manchester to see Hayley on Thursday. Great way to end November!

p.s: Rob got a haircut!

ice skating and christmas market

with all these travelling that i will be doing, i am starting to realise how much i'll miss everyone back here in vienna. gosh, there's only 1 month left before everyone leaves...

yesterday, claus brought us to this place near his home in the outskirts of vienna that has the largest underground lake in europe, coincidentally, that's also where they filmed the three musketeers! it's a pity that i do not have any photos as i did not bring along my camera. i was also too tired from previous night of partying at kaiko where we reached home before 4 which was actually early, but had to wake up at 11, which was also early. (and rob was good that night, so no gossips for all of you my friends! in fact, rob has been a real decent guy so far, and i am starting to feel so bad for portraying him as a man-whore which he is so not one, well, maybe he is partly one after many drinks...haha)

claus also made a wonderful lunch for all of us where he pan fry some sausages with cheese wrapped with bacon. yummy. thanks claus for the amazing day i had yesterday.

today, chris, montx, martha, andrea, rob and some more folks are gonna ice skate later. YEAH! my first ice skating experiance! and it is in europe near christmas! after that, i am also gonna make a trip to the christmas market where they sell these nice hot wine in a cute mugthat u can bring home. hopefully, i will also be able to meet whitney's folks who are in town for dinner. All these on the day before i'm leaving for Paris (yeah!). Gotta make it a short night though cos my flight is at 7 am, which meant that i have to be at the airport by 6, so i had to take the train to the airport by 5, therefore i have to wake up at 4.15! oh my, i am so gonna be enjoying the louvre huh. then i'll be back on sunday, and leave for dublin and manchester on tues and back on saturday, where everyone will then be gone for the ski trip!

copenhagen - a lovely wonderful city

I am back to Vienna today, reaching back to my dorm to wake up a sweet sleeping Rob at 12.30 pm. He made breakfast for me too! Isn't he lovely? Ha, this room mate thing is so useful!

Anyway, updating my blog with pictures of Copenhagen before I leave for Paris this Thursday till Sunday; gonna be doing so much travelling for this month that I'll be spending so little time with my amazing friends here in Vienna! Missed so many of them while I was in Copenhagen; but nonetheless, Elise and Huiling were such great travel mates! We three acted like we were crazy people and laughed at every smallest joke we can crack up!

The first night, or rather, evening (it was only 6pm) in town, where christmas is around the corner! And pretty lights were on display!

The main shopping street in Copenhagen, there's ultra expensive Royal Copenhagen and George Jenson side by side.

First meal in town where we ate a knock off Subway sandwich at this place called Sunset Bld.

First night in town and we are out to party! Went to Culture Box and had lots to drink! The photo showing the drinks were only like a third of what we had!

We really enjoyed the music they played in the club and we managed to dance; and we have a wonderful time!

On Saturday, we went to the port by grabbing use of daylight to see the beautiful shop fronts lining along the harbour. There's also a Christmas market there along the harbour and Elise and I had Crepes with chocolate sauce and crushed hazelnuts. Huiling and Elise also managed to get some really nice souvenirs for their friends and themselves! As it was a Saturday, there was a party where they were dishing out free beers in small plastic cups to all and tons of folks were there to enjoy the lovely afternoon.

We then strolled along the harbour and managed to see the new avant garde Copenhagen Opera house on the opposite island of Christianhavn! Then, we continued to walk further down to search for the famed Mermaid! And it is really much smaller than expected.

After the sun went down at 4+pm, we proceeded to Tivoli gardens and the place was beautifully adorned with many lights for Christmas. I managed to grab a pair of nice tea light holders from Royal Copenhagen and some pretty christmas cards. That said, it maeant that the gals did buy something too as the christmas market there was sprawling!

Also, there is this really funny video, or maybe my mind was in the gutter again as usual, but I find these dwarves to be really kinky! And there are tons of kids in the tent watching them at Tivoli!

On Sunday, we met up with Elise's friend Kevin, a nive Dane who was in SMU last term on exchange and he brought us to this lovely place in main town where we had Sunday brunch at 125DKK per person. Look at the spread! We felt so full after the meal! Then we went to Malmo, a town in South Sweden that is only 40 minutes away by train from Copenhagen.

The city of Malmo is a charming nice little town and since we were there on a Sunday, the shops were closed and yes, that means that we did not get to shop for H&M at it's birth country, and I swear that the H&M in Malmo is gigantic. The symbolic modern architecture of the twisting tower in Malmo is considered to be a must see feature in Malmo with its avant garde design.

having fun in copenhagen!

hi all back home as well as my lovely friends in vienna! Copenhagen is beautiful, or rather, make that a BEAUTFUL! The city was already dark yesterday when Elise, Huiling, and me got to the main town at 4pm, so we decided to channel our energy to attack the shops instead! But that said, we still managed to do quite a bit especially with the buildings that are adorned with christmas lights!

We also went clubbing at 12+ last night, or should i say, this morning. To a placee called culture box which the hostel lady told us is a up and coming spot and it's like a insider tip to go there now. Lovely club, though it's pretty small, with a dance floor that spins great electronic/techno whetever you call them, then a bar in front, with another basement that spins some cool house. So the club's not that small afterall, huh?

Drinks are surprisingly affordable with Heineken a bottle at 30 DKK (around 4.50€) and Vodka at 50DKK, and mojito at 75DKK. That meant that we all drank alot considering I can givce you all these prices haha. Yeah, we did get slightly wasted and arrived back to the hostel around 4am by cab (110DKK) and found our 9 bedded dorm full of zzzzzz people, including 3 spanish - why do they not party till as late as you guys Montse, Martha and Christina?

Rob will love this place cos simplt it is filled with tons of cultural sights and lovely ladies, but then again, he's been so good lately to even check out other gals.

Gonna do more city walking today and the sun is out! Gotta grab use of the daylight and make the most out of it! Photos will be posted when i get back! Hasta Pronto mis amigos!

a nite at the passage

i went to passage! finally after missing out on it for like weeks! Well, Rob and moi went with etianne, jeanbaptist and andrea and by the time we got there, it was like 1+am cos we had to take the night bus after missing out on the freaking last metro.

The club is expensive! Paid 10 euros for entrance cos we do not wanna get there before 10pm for the free entry thinking we'll just spent more on drinks. Had a vodka cranberry for 8.50 euros and a heineken for 5 euros (prices are just like singapore, right?) there and at the music was good (better than kaiko and soho anyways). In fact, passage reminds me of Phuture in Zouk back home.

Stayed till 4 and we got on the wrong night bus! By the time we figured everything out, the regular train was running and we got home aroung 5.30, where I felt famished and made myself 2 sunny side ups, 3 slices of ham and 2 hot dogs before going to bed!

thoughts before copenhagen

i'll be flying off to copenhagen tomorrow at 10am (i think), and before that, i just have some thoughts which have been in my mind for days which I wanted to blog about but somehow, I just cannot let it out cos more peeps are reading my blog. And some are concerned that I am painting a bad portrayal of them.

When I set up this blog, I really wanted to keep it among a circle of a few friends but somehow, vanity and self adoration made me placed my blog address on my msn and as i keep adding people onto my list, they somehow gotten access to it.

I like to rant and bitch and i am sure that most will actually take what I say about 3rd parties on my blog with a pinch of salt; somehow, i felt that the more i am being cornered into making my entries more and more politically correct, the more I am being pushed over the brim to make my blog entries even more salicious to the world!

And because I live by the rule that whatever is posted will not be taken down, I can no longer just rattle stuffs off my head like when I first started! Therefore, many may have noticed that recent entries are purely about my trips and nights out with no more specific mentioning of names or people and friends around me. More importantly, there are no more so-called insights on what happened to them.

I do respect their own individual's privacy.

Hence, when I make a promise that certain stuffs will not ever see the face of the internet, I jolly well make sure they remain in the closet. However, I just felt that the joy and satisfaction of bitching and being involved in juicy conversations with my friends back home when i meet them, be it in europe, or back home, will now be gone!
