you cannot go to prague without your passport

that was what i was told by the police on the train after it set off from Sudbahnhof for 30 minutes.

so i had to drop off at some out of the way station and wait 30 minutes for a train ride back into Vienna. And it was too late to even get the 6.33 train to prague, so i am gonna wake up very very early tomorrow to catch the 6.03am train there, with my passport this time.

It's my Birthday!

I turned 23 yesterday and had a really great time! A huge THANK YOU to my pals, Rob, Whitney, Kevin, Clause, Cathi, Cha and Fon!

Had dinner at the wonderful restaurant that serves really good food in large portions at very affordable prices (I had Ribs for only 8 euros and they were gigantic, cannot finish all of mine, only managed to eat half!)

Then decided to go to Soho cos they were giving out FREE(!!) drinks from 10 till 11pm! Had like 5 or 6 Malibu Oranges and 1 beer there, before we hop over to Kaiko (It's Monday!) and do shots and have more drinks!

And! that was just the start of the evening! haha...We stayed in Kaiko till like 4 then took the last Night Bus back to Panorama, and Rob played some songs and Whitney and i did crazy dance steps in our room! haha...Sun rises then we went to bed and Whitney back to Haus Europa.

Now... that's a great 23rd Birthday!

Started the evening with dinner at one of the Austrian Restaurant (or Tavern?) that Clause (Rob's buddy) brought us to!
Kevin, Me, Whitney and my wonderful buddy, Cathi!

Whitney and Rob wrote this lovely note! Ain't it sweet?!

AND, they got me H&M vouchers! I like!!! haha
Thanks Whitney and Rob! Muacks! haha...

Cathi got me an Austrian Liquor that is apparently very strong (only drink one small shot after dinner, anything more and that's it!) and my favourite Chocolates! So sweet of her! Thank you Cathi!

Still pretty sober do you not think so? haha.

Cheers!

Cathi and me; she's such a cool buddy!

And the sun comes up!

Oh, and now, for the gossip: Mr Rob was so getting it on last night on the dance floor with this gal from Hong Kong! and they were so into it! haha...and midway through the dance, they both disappeared for a good ole' 15(!) minutes! But before you think otherwise and denounce my dear Rob a 15 minute guy, I can assure you that he last way longer (opps...!) Apparently, Lacey (a.k.a the crazy one) wanted to go home around 1+ because she is sad that Rob's talking to another gal, and she wanted all of us to come back with her (WTF?!) So poor Rob was snatched away from Miss HK and had to tell her that we are all having funa dn not leaving that early.

Then, she tried to pull Cha away, and Cha and I offered to sent her to the bus stop but she kept saying "i want you guys to be back with me" Mad woman. period.

Went on to say that she can make it home on bus even though she has to walk alone in the dark for 15 minutes in a shady area. (Cha offered her to take the cab and even paid for it before she got on, but that was only anothet 30 min of telling her why we want her in the cab!)

Finally we managed to dump her into the cab and went back to party...haha

We all took the night bus and let me tell you, the 15 min walk is so not in a dodgy shady area, the place is so brightly lit up!

Then she called Rob the net day and told her that she had (and i quote) 'a traumatic experiance'. one word for her - Siao!

And dear ole' Rob is now probably having beer and more in Munich with the HK gal cos they all went with the school to Octoberfest. Bet the gal must have a goof nice sausage there...haha...I'm talking about those they served in the tents, what were you thinking?!

chinese sushi and my B-Day!

Met Cha and Mook who're staying at the 7th level, and went for buffet at Gasometer station where there lies a sprawling shopping complex. Turns out there from 10-11pm everynight, happy hour at this japanese restaurent where all plates are 50 euro cents. that's right. but the only thing japanese is the sushi belt and the cucumber sushi roll. the rest were like fried potatoes wafers, fried noodles, fried rice, and misc fried stuffs...but at the price, it is affordable...oh! there's even si-chuan chicken with bell peppers!

I also get to meet Cha's buddy, Paul and his gf from Turkey!

Paul's GF (forgot her name, starts with U, Cha and Mook)

Me and Cha

Paul drove us back and when i opened the door (Cha and Mook came over to my room cos Mook had a bad throat and I tried to steal some of Rob's Honey and Lime for her), saw Rob typing at his computer and this is what I saw on the door:

Sweet Ole'Rob! He is such a sweetie! haha, I so forgot that it's past 12 midnight and I am officially 23! Likewise for you Rob in 2 days' time (his 22nd on 28/9 !)

lil' random things

well, today's sunday and all the shops are closed so i am just sitting in my room rotting away.

This is the very first item i bought in Switzerland, a Starbucks hot chocolate.

The sight that greeted me when i came back this morning (too good to not take it! now gals, u can thank me! again, rob, if you ever see this, I just wanna claim again that I am NOT a pervert)

so bored at the desk that I have to resort to this!

Bern; Capital of Switzerland!

Decided to proceed to Bern after checking into my Hostel in Zurich (It's a HI youth hostel and it is actually kindda value for $ considering it's only 37CHF a night!)

So i took the 8-ish train to Bern and arrived at 9+. Singed up for walking tour that starts at 11 and had a really great time at this Unesco Heritage town! the medieval town looks so gorgueous and I highly rec taking a trip here for anyone, but at 90CHF for train tix from Zurich return, it can burst anyone's budget too...haha...

This is the famed astronomical clock from 1500s in Bern. Many try to catch the hourly show at 11 - 1 pm, and I caught it too, so nice!

This is the old town, with Sandstones buildings to prevent the buildings from catching Fire (2/3 were wiped out in 1400's with huge fire)

Fountains like this are everywhere in Bern and they all have a very interesting figurine atop!

This is the famed Last Judgement on the exterior on the church in Bern. When the Protestants came, they took away and tore down all ststues inside the churches except this outside. Luckily they spared it!

interior of the church where Protestants cleared all statues, the sunflowers are there cos' there's gonna be a funeral later in the day.

Since Switzerland was not involved in WW2, the churches had managed to retain the beautiful Stained Glass.

Einstein Haus; yes, he did stayed in Bern, in fact the Bern History Museum is having a special exhibit abput him!

Museum of Fine Arts in Bern

Me: Exhibit in Bern museum, painting to the right is by pollock.

Van Gogh, need i say more?

The museum had a special feature by Werner Witschi and I find the objects rather interesting.

Zurich!

Zurich is so boring. Period. Ok, they do have great shopping though. But what is the use of all the LV, Hermes, Cartier, Gucci, Burberry, and Chanel when one is broke?

And I discovered that the Bottega Venetta outlet in Zurich is bigger than the one in Florence! And apparently, BV, Zegna and Bulgari share same building as Credit Suisse! and LV is just across!

Did i tell you guys I bank with both Credit Suisse and UBS? ha, not that i am filthy rich, but these 2 are the most prominent banks in Switzerland, so visitors usually get cash service from their ATMs. Wither them or this one bank call Valiant. Need I say more?

This UBS is at Bahnhofstrasse, and it is right angled with Credit Suisse!

ha. I covered the old town in under 3 hours. and decided to head off to Schaffhausen(home of the watch company IWC) 1 hr away.

View of Zurich

Gorgeous view of Me in Zurich. ha.

Streets of Zurich (the clock faces are the biggest in Europe)

Fountain

Fried Rice with nothing but Veggies that cost me 13CHF!and it tastes so salty and pepperry!

The Swiss Museum

I just cannot resist taking a snapshot! SIA in Zurich and it's aalong Bahnhoffstrasse, reputed to have most expensive floor spaces in world (Ginza in Japan claims too), where shops like LV, Gucci are at!

My NordSea dinner; Fish Fillet with Veggies and Potatoes.
