My.Oh.My.

Dad is back for 1 night only on transit before flying back to Brunei tomorrow morning. Just found out that he is leading such an amazing life that I have to blog about this piece of news I just heard.

Apparently, he was supposed to be in transit (though theoretically, it's not really transit-and-wait-in-the-airport per se) as he was in Jakarta (for what purpose, I don't know) But here is the juicy part. I was asking him why he went to Jakarta and he gave me a totally blank look. He acted as if I was spouting nonsense from my Cadbury high cos I was happening to be munching on them.

Well, turns out that I was wrong. He did not go to Jakarta, but rather, he went to East Timor. Yes. East Timor. Gosh, what the hell was he doing there then, I proped further. His reply? For fun and to check out the place.

I don't know how some of you choose to interpret Fun, but for me, certainly the words 'Fun' and 'East Toimor' do not fit together.

New York, Barcelona, London, Tokyo. Yes.

East Timor. No.

Anyways, I had decided to make a trip to Borneo this June with Mum since I cannot get any internships. Besides I cannot let Mum have all the fun in Borneo while I was away for the past holidays. So come June, I will visit Kota Kinabalu in East Malaysia with Mum after years (on my part) of not been there. Maybe we'll hop over to Brunei and look Dad up at the same time. Just hope he'll not be in East Timor again.
Speaking of Kota Kinabalu, it's actually a lovely place (read: boring) but there is good food and great beach resorts set besides the South China Sea. I'm eyeing on the Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort and here are some lovely photos!
Now that do not look very bad huh? but here's a place in the hotel you will NOT find me:
The above is hell in paradise, epitomised.

It's that time of the year...

Considering how we are approaching June, some lovely creatures are making appearances at our local friendly grocers this time of the year. Mum bought some lovely Thai Honey Mangoes back and these succulent juicy fresh fruits are so farking tasty! I have already had like 20 of them ever since Mum got them a week ago!
I've been averaging around 3 daily and yummy! Bring more back!

a new stud at home

haha, i went down to ikea today with mum to get a new coffee table. We were feeling rather adventurous so we decided to make a trip to the far flung ikea in Tampines since there was free (yes, FREE) shuttle bus from Bedok and Tampines MRT station to the newly opened Ikea (ok, it's not that new cos it was unveiled last year i think, but I've never been to this branch before)
Mum and I also realised why they provide free shuttle daily to the Ikea - cos the location sucks. Period.
Compared to the extremely convenient Ikea at Alexandra with a nice mix of expatriates clientele, the one at Ikea, fear not, does have its far share of gorgeous expats despite a lazy Friday, but there were also more students from schools in the Eastern areas going there for their lunch, and alot alot ALOT of semi-retired and full time retirees who have nothing better to do than to go there to check out those Ikea displays.

But one saving grace is that the Ikea at Tampines has 2 other gigantic stores besides it. A huge Courts Electrical and Appliance store and Giant, a grocer. Mum and I had lunch at Ikea then hopped over to Courts to get our much deserved new mattresses, then back to Ikea where i bought lots of crappy stuffs like candles, a new frying pan, hangers etc etc...
Incidentally, local Ikea also started to stop giving out free plastic bags so we got another of those Blue re-usable shopping bags cos I forgot to bring the one I bought in Vienna down.
In case you are thinking that that's all, well, I got more to complain bout this Ikea. There seemed to be no taxis in sight! The location is so far flung that unless there are people going there, it's impossible to get a cab! I'll not be patronising this outlet anytime soon, that I am sure.
Gotta run, I am meeting pals for a night of mahjong...haha...

Something Cultured

No, not cultured like a yogurt...but rather, cultured like a true bona-fide art aficionado. Si, mis amigas. Yours truly went down to the Singapore Arts Museum today after weeks of wanting to see the special exhibition by China artiste Fanzhi on Idealism.

Ok, and the other reason for this trip was due to the fact that I had 2 hours to kill after my less than 30 min FIIM meeting with my groupmates (quite an unproductive meeting, may i add) before dinner with Wanwen. So, what can a bored guy do? the museum's just across the street, so I might just as well...

Now, Let me share with you more on the artiste...All I know from what I've read is that he's an idealist (is that the term for painters painting potraits that are idealism in nature?) Ok, and he's from China. Yup.

Ok, ok, I am really captivated by those paintings since I've seen it on the news cos I remembered a potrait (which I've managed to snap secretly) from the papers which shows a guy dressed in communistic gear and the painting just looks so alluring. So alluring to my attention that I forgot the painting's name. Haha...Look at it for yourself and see if you've been attracted...haha...

But my ultimate fave is this tribute (??) to Warhol! I love it! Made my admission of $4 so worth it.

Sadly, our interiors are not as grand as European museums so, this is all we've got. A preserved pre-WW2 building which used to be a church then an all-boys school and todate, a museum. Not very bad actually...don't be so picky, ok? haha

Darn, gotta run, late for dinner!

near death experience

ok, maybe the header was too dramatic, but knowing the dramatic in me, the title is actually very much apt for this post.

There's no photos cos seriously, I was so traumatised by what had happened just now that...i think i need to go shopping...

What was the big deal? well...yours truly was stick in the elevator just now.

Yes...Stuck.In.A.Elevator.

Sense my excitement?

With a primary school kid and her maid. Oh, did i mentioned I bought groceries too, so my ice cream melted and orange juice became warm and what else? Yes, my 2 bratwurst and 300 grams of breakfast ham suffered too.

Why am I in bout of unluckiness lately? Taxi failure at busy junction few weeks back and now this!

Ok, actually, the time spent stuck inside the lift was not that bad. The fan and lights were still on; only the life failed to move. I pressed the emergency button for like 10 min and since they just re-furbished the lift, 4 walls were covered in protective gear and there's no emergency number to call/dial. Those town council folks are soooo smart to only post notices with numbers outside the lift. How do stuckers like me get to see numbers when I am in the lift? Rely on reflections from the non-reflective surfaces of the walls outside?!

Anyway, the notice inside does not help much too: In case of emergency, please stay calm and do not panic. Press the emergency button and wait for help to arrive.

Yes, I did folow those instructions. In fact, I even called 995 (911 of Singapore) to tell them to send 'convey the message that I am stuck with 2 other folks to the town council' .

In between wait, I had time to look at my mails, eat 8 squares of chocolate with almonds, call mum (who's 3 floors abov my stuck lift) and also, lament my suay-ness (unluckiness) to Tina and provide her some late afternoon destress talk.

Help arrived and they fixed the problem. Immediately, I left the lift and climb stairs for the remaining floors up. The exit was not as dramatic as I envisioned though...

Now, who says I am a vain guy?

Ok, i think by now most of my pals know of my weakness when it comes to shopping: Bags and Shoes, and in fact, I came across this article from Purse Blog to justify my weakness and i find it oh-so-appropriate:

Men are more likely than women to opt for a luxury brand when buying handbags - and it’s the label, not the price, that counts, according to a survey of wealthy shoppers.

The Luxury Institute said the demand for luxury bags remains strong, with about one third of 1,500 wealthy American shoppers surveyed buying a branded bag in the last 12 months.
“The luxury handbag is the accessory that defines the wealthy woman and is a major profit driver for luxury fashion brands,” said Milton Pedraza, chief executive of the New York-based researcher focused on wealthy consumers.

The Luxury Institute found that men were more likely than women to reach for a luxury label when buying a handbag - 73 per cent of men, compared with 50 per cent of women - and over three times more likely to choose luxury French brand Chanel.
But overall, US label Coach has become the most popular bag among wealthy shoppers, leading with a 29 percent market share with other brands compete heavily for the rest of the pie.

The survey of shoppers with an average income of $US308,000 and average net worth of $US3.1 million found Coach was the most familiar brand of designer handbags, recognized by 52 per cent of respondents.
That compared to 24 per cent for Gucci22 per cent for Louis Vuitton, and 21 per cent for Prada

But familiarity with the pricier Italian brands rises as wealth increases, according to the report.

Looking at consumers whose yearly paycheck was above $US300,000, the survey found that 38 per cent were familiar with Coach, while 34 per cent were aware of Gucci.
Price did not come into the equation even though bags from luxury fashion houses such as Chanel, Prada and Gucci, owned by parent company PPR, can cost in the thousands of dollars, while Coach bags generally cost hundreds of dollars.
Consumers said the price was not as important a consideration as quality and reputation when judging between luxury brands.

it's all coming back...

before i fell asleep last night, I suddenly remembered the very interesting Q asked by the lady at JP Morgan for my interview : So, you like to read, why don't you tell me about the last book you've read?

Yes, that was actually quite a highlight of the interview and I don't know why i got that vital info erased from my mind. My reply? Well, haha...I said the last interesting book I've read was The Time Traveler's Wife, cos the book was soo unique and complicated due to the time traveling factor. Of course, at the back of my mind, I suddenly realised that I had been tricked cos maybe what she expects from me is "Well, the last book I've read is actually some Finance book" Ha! I got bam-doozled! Damn! Then I quiclky add on that I like magazines like Econimist and Newpapers too cos they are so convenient and interesting. True! The Economist is very interesting, in fact, with that kind of price for a magazine, I think Economist trumps all otheres hands down for it's price/wordings ratio.

Great Dinner for Mum

Ever since my foiled attempt to leach onto Steven's sister to try the utterly devastatingly great succulent Peking Duck from Ming Jiang Restaurant at Rochester Park, I have been attempting to come up with some excuses to persuade Mum to try it our with me.

But, Rochester Park is just way out of place for folks who do not drive, so, I decided to hop over to the other Ming Jiang at Goodwood Park hotel in town instead. Much more accessible. Adeline also raved to me about the great braised Pork Belly which i die-die-must-try.

And I had a great excuse: Mothers' Day. Ha. Yes, I am a very filial son who really wants to pamper his mother to a great meal in a fancy posh Chinese Restaurant. I am also the one filial son who happened to realise that Mum cannot exactly eat all those food which I wanted to try due to health reasons. Oh well...the world does revolve around me , so...too bad for Mum I guess. But she did had a great time there and she did sample most food and she had praises for them all!

I ordered a bowl of braised shark's fin in superior stock for myself (Shark's fins has high cholesterol, so non mum-friendly) The soup base was wonderfully aromatic and the fins were really good! At 68 bucks a small bowl, it is pricey but then, the fins and soup was really that good!

Then, I order half a Peking Duck (the skin has cholesterol too, so ain't mum-friendly too!) The skin was good and crisp. I decided to eat the meat from the roast duck as it is and find them a bit tough.

Then, I ordered a portion of Braised Pork Belly for Mum and Oriental Beef Steak for myself. The belly was really tender and nice, but even that small cube, it is frighteningly high in fats and mum only ate half. Very rich and actually, filling! The beef steak was great, the meat wonderfully marinated and not tough at all!

Then, we got a dish of Fried Scallops with Asparagus in X.O. Sauce. Great dish, both of us loved it.

Lastly, I got myself a dessert called Mango with Pomelo bits. Not bad. Oh, and in case you, like the dumd waitress, think that I'm the one footing the bill cos it's a celebration of Mothers' Day, wrong! Of course, it wasn't Mum too. One important sentence: Daddy's supplementary card for Mum.

Vienna Beach leaves on...

I met up with Tina's friends last night and headed to my favourite club, Zouk. Ok, Tina was there too...haha...I just like how i kept misleading people that it's tina's friends though she's there too...haha...
ok, anyway, Jilian realised that I should bring some friends of mine along in case i cannot tolerate them and their girl talk, so who else to ask other than Kenneth? haha...And! since I figure that Ken will probably take ages to meet me for dinner, I decided to ask Brandon along so I can meet up earlier for dinner before hitting the club.
The gals had some drinks before going down to Zouk at Emerald Hill and Brandon and I, after our dinner, went to look for them and made our way to the club together. And here's where the fun starts. Entrance was 28 bucks with 2 drinks but since all drinks were 1-for-1 till midnight, the alcoholic me got muchos muchos drinks. Got 2 jugs of Malibu Pineapple to sweeten things to a start and finally, Kenneth got there and I got 20 Tequila shots... haha...yes! 20 tequila shots!
And the girls only took like 6...so that leaves the 3 guys with the rest... Then we used our coupns to get beer and to end the night on another sweet note, I got for myself and the guys a Rainbow shot! Awesome.
Still pretty sober on photo huh? haha...
Jilian, Debra and Tina at Emerald 5 before Zouk for their Martinis
Oh, and on a very important sidenote:
Elise and Huiling...we have to do Zouk soon! haha...

the opera and two blind phantoms

no no! it wasn;t me who went to watch the phantom of the opera at the esplanade..rather, it was tina and her friend jilian. I had dinner with them and let me tell you...those 2 gals were dressed up as if they are VVVIPs on opening night for the broadway show. As if.

Reality: They were gonna be sitting on Circle 4 (like the 4th or 5th floor) with tickets bought over eBay! haha...Well, to give them some justice (and much deserved class) they did have a pretty good seat in the house (or at least, from what i was told) But the important thing was that they got those seats from an Italian expat lady who can no longer make it to the show cos she has something on (forgot her side of the story)

So, those two gals brought along with them the essential opera/broadway/concert/performance in cheap seating item - the binoculars. Again, let me tell you...with those bino they have with them, looking at the stage is no problem for them, in fact, with those binos they can even see all the way from Singapore to Malaysia's JB across the causeway! Though i think if its me, i'll probably be too busy checking out those folks seating in the premium seat and try to make put which is a 8/10 or a 1/10 or another lucky bugger who got cheap eBay tix off some expat.

Botak Jones and a surprise!

No, the above is NOT botak jones (botak is malay for bald), but rather, wedding bells ringing Adeline at her gown fitting! I wanted to save the photo till the last but she's too gorgeous to not be on the front of this post!

Adeline brought me to try out Botak Jones when we met for dinner today. Apparently, there's this Botak Jones outlet just across the street from my neighbourhood, Bishan. I had Fish and Chips and just as I was questioning whether to take the Regular or Large serving, Ade assured me tha a Regular will suffice. Luckily for her advice cos the Fish and Chips was gigantic even at regular! Even with the help of Ade, we cannot polish off the fries and those two pieces of fish fillets were also so long, the 6 bucks were so well spent on it!

Ade had the Botak Burger and the beef patty was even thicker than the burger bun itself! Gosh, Botak Jones do serve good food at extremely affordable prices! And! It's within walking distance from my place! Wished I had a camera to capture all those food but rest assure cos even though there's no food today, i got something even better!

Well, remember when I said that Adeline's getting married? And she has a gorgeous Singapore Airlines pilot fiance (or is it husband)? Well, I have got photos here! haha...yes yes, another eligible bachelor off the market, gals out there...don't you wish you have a pilot hubby to pamper you too? haha...and look at all those photos, somehow, isn't Ade glowing from being in love?

When will my princess in her Dior couture gown come swoon me and sweep me off the ground?

Speaking of gown, Ade went to try on some wedding gowns last (or 2) week(s) ago and she opted for this gorgeous low back one:

I so think she made the right and perfect choice cos Ade's has a great back! And the lace is just so weeding-ish and chic! I cannot wait to attend her wedding!

crushed like a cockcroach

got all my grades for this term...man...whatever happened to last term being the 'revive my flagging GPA term'? Got 4 B's which was ok...but then, corporate reporting really pulled a huge gigantic surprise on me! I knew i'll get a bad grade...but a C? Not even a C+ u know...so sad...think I'll be having insomnia again...haha...

I am really destined to be cursed when it comes to analytical financial stuffs here...also made me contemplating my career move, i mean, if i cannot even get an internship with any bank, what more can i do to even make myself more appealing to those HR ppl when I intend to want to work in a bank?! Maybe I should just get over and done with this course and really go on to take a new course in some arts related stuff...but then again, i ain't that artistic...haha...

Hate the fact that gpa is plunging even worse than a diver jumping off from his spring board...

Carrying on a Dannish tradition

Met up with Huiling, Elise and Victor (Elise's boyfriend) last night for some booze at Clark Quay and decided to first, meet for dinner prior our booze-fest. We finally met up to club after the last time we all had such great fun in Copenhagen, so we decided that this fine tradition must be continued!

Tina joined for dinner and beer and so, we went to this new Japanese/Korean-themed mall beside Clark Quay called Central (??) and had Japanese food at this restaurant called...I forgot. Anyway, first impression of the place was great! Superb I may add cos the staffs are always soo friendly and eager to please! Because we had no reservation, we had to wait in line at the waiting area and they actually served us free sodas to quench our thirst! Nice. However, the cheerful atmosphere soon turned to pure and sheer irritation cos staffs are just shouting "Welcome" and "Thank You" in Japanese at the entrance (where the wait was too) . The worst part is, staffs were so into their world that they will just shout out those words even though there's no customer coming in or leaving!

Only the starting of something nasty! We had to change to a bigger table after getting our initial table and the bloody female supervisor told us to:

1) clear the existing table we were seated, AND
2) Wait in line ALL OVER from the SCRATCH!

took us more than 30 minutes to finally get a table! And because we were so famished, we decided to have our orders taken even before we get to out seats but the lady REFUSED cos she said "I do not have a table for you now, so i cannot get your order without a table number assigned"

Table was said to be available in 5 min and we decided to order cos we were sooo blardy famished and do not wanna waste MORE time waiting for the food, and the lady was like "Ok, I will do it for you this time, but not the next time (in my mind i was thinking that there will not be a next visit from me!)" AND she added "I do not know if you guys will wanna change your table again" Asshole

okay, to the food, it was not bad and i find them cheap cos i had a complete meal of pork cutlet rice and a potato salad AND a small bowl of udon noodles for only 16 bucks!

I think the lady with the ponytail back facing us is the bitch!

Now...to the fun part! after dinner, we decided to head to Clark Quay for some booze and since it was not even 10pm by the time we get into the club, MoS (Ministry of Sound) we decided to get the free entrance chop then, head to another watering hole for some beer first. Elise recommended this new microbrewery call Pump and we had a 3.5L tower of beer for the 5 of us. They had a really good live band with this helluva big built tranny singer who can do very good covers of Donna Summer-esque songs...Haha...Clark Quay is filled with sooo many expatriates and tourists that we were bitching that we felt like we're in Europe again! haha...

Ok, anyway, photos of the club and the brewery are not up yet so just gotta make do with the photo above (main dance floor on first floor) and the video (taken at the 54 room on 2nd level) of the club below. Oh, we 'picked up' 2 Irish guys to join the 4 of us for drinks at MoS...but that's another story...and they are good looking Irish i tell ya! haha...wait for next update k...haha...

summer term

firstly, i am kindda sure that the freaky weather pattern has affected our (supposedly) sunny shores too, cos it has been raining, which should not be the case usually at this time of the year. It's normally just hot, not hot and (very) damp!

Anyway, I just started my first lesson of FIIM (Financial Instruments, Institutions and Markets) today and with lessons on Tue-Thur from noon till 3.15, yes, I'll be a very grouchy man unless I have some food. Well, since I was early today, I took a seat next to the door and like I mentioned prior, since I was early, I decided to eat the Subway Ham sandwich I bought instead of waiting till break time 1.5 hrs later, which I'd have starved to death.

So, I was taking my first munch into the 6 inch sub when ppl started to come into the room, and since I am the first 'thing' they'll see once the door is opened, I felt so un-glam to be caught sinking my big mouth into the bread. Kindda realised that it ain't necessary a pretty sight for the folks so i stopped munching halfway through the sandwich and kept the rest till break time.

The professor, correction , lecturer (since she does not hold a Ph.D, i reckoned) is not as bad as I imagined. Cos' she's new to SMU, I though she would have a very bad time teaching. But then again, Sush-zilla is apparently, a founding faculty member of SMU (which she oh-so-proudly declare everytime) and she still cannot teach, so that fat ass (Sush-zilla) just completely ruined that logic.

Back to my lecturer, her name's Dawn (i think) and she has lots of experience in banking sector (which I think is the reason why she was hired in the first place) Her past job description sounds rather interesting, albeit boring, and I wish I can describe to you what she does, but i kindda forget her job position. All I vaguely remembered her saying were words like "banks", "loans" and "--", u noe what, i forgot. It was also brought to the class's attention that she it is not her first time teaching for she had been in NTU (the other competing un-glam university at Tuas, a far-flung corner of Singapore) Maybe Dawn's sick of needing to take a boat to get to NTU so she decided to (how aptly) jump ship to SMU in the city centre.

Ok, so, her lesson is not as boring as I anticipated but still, she's not exactly very engaging either. I so miss the dramatic Andrew Lee for my Corporate Reporting last term - although the grade he (will be) giving me is gonna be really bad. Hey, at least I'm getting good showmanship from him, literally!

The students in FIIM are also a bunch of Finance majors who, true to the very essence of Finance, ranges from competitive to foreign students from China and India who speaks with an atrociously unbearable accent (especially China!) to the well, plain boring. This is how it usually breaks down:

Singaporeans and local students : competitive, singlish accent with some Cheena (local who prefer speaking mandarin) folks spouting Mandarin phrases

Foreign students from India : more competitive with Indian accent that when you pay attention, is able to understand perfectly

Foreign students from China : more competitive, lifeless folks who like to stick in school cos their folks probably sell off the entire estate to send them here so that they can get a good degree. Loud mouth, noisy, likes free food, and speaks with such strong and weird accent that even if you pay them your devoted attention, still cannot make out 20% of what they are saying, and please don't even get me started on their written work

Of course, above are exaggerating and to prevent any public uproar of me being labelled a racist or anything, those images are of course, merely what my mind seemed to be painting in my head.

Looks like I'll be having a fun time in school this term!

Mariah, Mariah, wherefore art thou Mariah?

Cos the public cannot possibly miss any sighting of you since you are so, well, how do i put it so delicately to your diva face...prominent.

To the general public, that means FAT.

Apparently, DJ Jean said you are working a a self-tanning lotion with your stylist, but why oh why are you doing that? You look so adorable when you are, prominent and fair, and looks just like the Chinese Horoscope icon for this year! Isn't that oh-so-trendily-vogue?

To the general public, that means the animal she looks like is the PIG

Why, my dear, do you wanna be a tanned (black-ish) boar instead of a lovable pinkish pig?

And why are you not working on your new album? I know you'd probably is still reeling in shock at how successful that comeback album was and you'd probably earned gazillions from it to be able to pamper yourself, but God gave you a voice, and hell, it's a bloody good voice! So put that beautiful voice to work, instead of wearing a white coat sitting in a laboratory churning out tannin lotion. Though the sentence may in reality be like this:

So put that beautiful voice to work, instead of wearing a (Shiny Glittering Fur) coat sitting in a (LV and Chanel displayed) laboratory churning out tanning lotion (and hiring cheap labor from third world nation to work on the lotion, then passing off as your own invention)

Advice: Glitter failed and bombed so i think you are just cursed with that thing. So nothing to do with glitter please, absolutely nothing to do with any form of that! Not even the actual stuff. One form of powder will be good for publicity - Crack. Just look what it did to changed Whitney's career.

Whole world knows Photoshop by now so don't mis-lead listeners with your album cover again (Paparazzi shots are better) and lastly, it took you a-g-e-s to come back with a hit album, so maybe you really do need more time, just not time spent wasting on developing your Mimi brand self tanning lotion. Summer's here, there's something call the Sun.

Flour N Meat

I had a buffet hi-tea session with Tina, K.S, Kenneth and Shuting yesterday at Lao Beijing at Plaza Singapura. The buffet was atrociously cheap! At only 20 per person with taxes, the amount of food available was value for money, although, as pictures will proved inaccurate (and Shuting looks deceptively happy doing her popiah above!) , the Famous Popiah that will be served to tables with more than 4 diners is suspiciously not nice (hence, why the famous is the name?)

Funny thing was that Mum bought Popiah back yesterday for dinner too, and hers is much nicer than those otherwise, Famous Popiah we had at Lao Beijing.

Ok, anyway, the spread was good and the various chinese dumplings we had was an assortment of different varieties of dumplings that are (as the waitress puts it) made of flour with meat fillings. Noodles were not bad but Asian Kitchen is better I reckon. The Xiao Long Baos were quite delightful actually.

Since all things flour and meat is getting boring, I took photos of us doing and wrapping our own popiah. Yes, those famous ones the reataurent claimed. Anyway, Popiah frare is standard, i guess, with the stewed turnips and carrots forming the bulk of what is being wrapped into the thin rice-flour skin. The sweet sauce tastes like caramel (no good cos moi hates caramel) and the grounded dried shrimp (or what appeared to have smelt like dried shrimp) gets mistaken for grounded peanuts by Kenneth. Tina thought the sliced egg ommelette was supposed to be sliced dried tofu skin (which is sooo not paert of any popiah recipe) and was buffled for a moment of two. All these just goes to show that the process of putting your own ingredients into the popiah is only the starting of a puzzled mystery cos the challanging part is not over as the wrappng process is very mind boggling too.

Mu Popiah (Mine's was the smallest out of all, but luckily cos erm...the tastes is not exactly nice so i was glad mine's the tiniest!)

Looks like sushi huh?

Hay algo muy raro

Si, mis amigos! Miro mi blog antes de la noche y miro un comment en mi blog a un persona no reconoco (?).

Anyway, Espanol is too hard for me. Ha, Ok, there's this comment on my 340 threadcount sheets and I though it was by someone I know, But clickin on her link brings me to this weird pink-kish site call Piggie Paradise and apparently, she sells ang bows! Really! I am so not kidding. Ok, ang bows are red packets Chinese folks used to put Money in during Chinese New Year, and considering that CNY had passed like 2 months, this lady or guy whgoo calls her'him self Piddie Paradise has apparently no updated the blog for some time! And I am sure she or he is Singaporean cos the bank account she listed down is a Singapore Bank.

Hmmm..somehow i wonder is she's my friend Josephine? Are you, piggie paradise?

the importance of 340 thread-count quilt cover

mum changed my sheets today into those brand new 340 thread count quilt cover i bought on Sunday. how good does 34o thread count feels? well, i just sunk into the bed 5 min ago to catch American idol and now i am here all elated that i actually spend that amount of mooh-lah on those quilt cover.

next stop: 400 thread count!

something fishy

met Lauren for lunch today after recovering slightly from my tummy flu to celebrate her upcoming birthday on Friday and we decided to eat Fish & Co. at Wheelock Place. I'd arrived early and hence, decided to pop by Marks and Spencer to grab a Triple Choco Crunch for her. Still too early and decided to browse for some books at Borders but nothing fancy catches my eyes (read: too lazy to indulge in any reading, yes, even fashion fails to keep my attention for 5 min surprisingly)

So, Lauren finally arrived at 2.15 and surprise! She got me the exact same identical Triple Choco Crunch from M&S too! haha..we were laughing so hard and both reeled in shocked at how well we know each other's tastes! Had 2 set lunches and I opted for fried fish nuggets, sweet and sour fish for main and passion fruit soda. Lauren's was Cesar Salad, NY Fish & Chips and also, passion fruit soda. I also ordered additional appetiser of grilled calamari (which turned out to be a bad decision cos we had so much food that we couldn't finish it!) The NY Fish N Chips were surprisingly NO different from the normal Fish and Chips they have. Apparently either Lauren and I both have such bad taste buds that fail to detect any of the proclaimed "Stuffed with a generous amount of cheese stuffing) or, the talented copywriters Fish and Co hired were really professional to their filed of creativity and stick tru to their job by listing down a non-detectable item (read: cheese stuffing) in the actual dish;s description itself.
Well, my sweet and sour was OK (nothing drastically awful can ever go wrong for sweet and sour, if an idiot like me can make it too, right?) but Lauren and i were wondering what veggie was lying on my platter when we bite into something crunchy and tastes like melon but i am sure it's not melon. Hmmm....
where's the cheese in the fish fillet?
Anyway, like I said, we were both so filled with all the gorging that we had to proceed to Mango and Zara and tons of other shops to burn off some calories. Oh...we were talking bout dresses at Massimo Dutti, but definitely, that piece of conversation did not include any thing on me and dresses, you know what i mean? haha...
Ended the day with coffee and a warm choco cake at Starbucks before i hit home and Lauren to her church for choir practice.

Hanging in there

I am back bitches! After AWOL-ing for like 2 weeks in the midst of exams and revisions, I am done with school this term - that is until I start Summer term next week.

Why am i doing summer term? well, how about the useless incumbent in me failing to get/clinch/beg for an internship sounds? In fact I sooo think that all these negative vibe is really getting to me cos I am down with a really bad case of Stomach Flu since yesterday (in fact, my tummy hurts sooo bad that I had problem sleeping last night despite being in a cocoon position...i guess it's kindda like I am having menstrual cramps, i suppose if that's how it feels) The pain and constant trips to the restrooms are so bad that I do not even dare to venture out of my home tonight for a dinner with dah-ling tai-tai (rich married woman who can just play poker for life cos she does not need to work with a great adoring hubby supporting her, a la desperate housewife) in training, Adeline...

ok, anyway, i had a great few days after the exams were done on Saturday, i met up with Elise, Tina and Marco (a HK guy on exchange in Prague and were friends with Tina and Elise) for lunch cos Marco is now working in a bank in Singapore. Also got to meet another SMU gal Elaine from HK who had been here for 10 (?) years. Had Sushi Tei and i also got some new quilt cover and sheets for my bed. All white cos since I am too broke to travel to posh hotel this year, more specifically, summer, I am gonna bring that hotel room to me by making my bed reminiscent of a hotel room. Cheap thrill.

gosh, My tummy hurts so i better go catch some 40 winks...seeya all later bitches!
