Schonbrunn and imperial Vienna!

I was at the Schonbrunn Palace, which was used as the Royal Summer Residence by Habsburg dynasty and totally blown away by the beauty of it. Pity that I was not allowed to take the photos of the rooms inside though.

Today, i went tramming around (that is, sitting in a tram going round and round trying to familiarise myself with the entire line) and passed by the Ring of Vienna, which is essentially the old district. Tons of amazing buildings there but as I was pressing for time, I only took these pics of the State Theatre (where the grand Vienna Ball is held every Jan, but now, there's a circus in front of it!), the Volksgarden, a huge sprawling garden in middle of ols town with beautiful flowers.

opps...his and hers...

i was up and early today at 8.30 cos the blardy sun shines into my room, and more specifically, my, yes, my, bed every morning at 8am!

anyways, thought i was meeting Tina at 11, but when I was at the station, she's not there, and then the thought may occur to me that i am meeting her at 1 instead, which explains why i am back in my hostel blogging.

My buddy was too busy to meet up with me cos she's working and i think i will go get myself a sim card later from school and set up a local bank account.

Managed to have breakfast today with the following:

Yogurt drink (only 80 euro cents for 500 mls!) and cinnamon cereals

also, managed to snap some shots of His and Hers part of my room; His being Rob's and Her's being my side (Tina said that my area looks like it belongs to a girl! but then again, tina ain't such a neat gal to begin with after travelling with her for 12 days straight!)

Rob's part : Bed, Study Table, and cabinets

Mine's: Bed, Study Table, and cabinets

photo time

yeah!!! got my internet up and running in my room so here are the long awaited photos!

first, i am gonna show everyone my dorm! here's my bed, followed by the sink oustide my room (within my apartment whoich consist of 2 rooms; one dbl, and 1 single, all 3 opf us sharing the same toilet in our apartment)

then, there's the toilet shared by 1 singaporean, 1 viet, and one hunky american (oh, it dose not look so clean now):

the sink area in our apartment:

here's the view from my room window

and now! the much awaited and anticipated photos of my italian trip!

this is the B&B i stayed at in rome, it's called the Roma Vacanze B & B, and the lady is a 60+ yr old italian granny; very nice place, and very nice old lady! i loved the place (one photo shows the train i took ti italy on a 12+ hour journey in a 4 sleeper couchette, and sleep was not good with all the stops and banging of the trains!)

now, the photos i taken on my trip across 4 cities: rome, florence, milan and venice:

Summery

1st row left to right:
Trevi fountain, the Victory Monumenmt aka the wedding cake, streets in rome, Vatican City, Colliseum

2nd row:
some square with fountain near Termini in Rome, some museum in Rome, Vatican Museum(yes! i was in sistine chapel!) Spanish Steps in Rome at evening, me on eurostar from Rome to Florence

3rd row:
Florence, 1/6 of Gelato selection at Cafe de Neri, Museum in Florence, Cafe at the Mall (my fav shopping place), our dinner with T Bone steak

4th row:
Rialto bridge in Venice, Snacks in local Venitian bar, some bridge in Venice with me devouring my white chocos from a local choco shop(heavenly!), me in St Marc's Sq in Venice, me on Murano Island (famos for their blown glasses) 30 min off mainland Venice by boat.

Last row:
same as 1st row

i am so in love with italian gelato, tina and i went to these 2 great gelaterias in florence and they apparently served the best gelato in florence, and some say, italy (3rd row, 2nd pic from left)! we both also shared a 1kg Tbone steak in florence the costs a whopping 40 euros (3rd row, 1st from right), and went to this great bar in milan called Exploit where we ordered drinks and get free unlimited tapas! In Venice, we went to local bars called The Devil and the Holy Water where we grabbed snacks like grilled squids (amazing!) and fried fish and cheap prices (4th row, 2nd from left)!

to end things off, I got addicted to this italian variety show called Cultira Modenna where there's this lady whom just do nothing but dance and jiggle her assests to audiences(to keep ratings up?) and her name's Juliana. How nice.

in WU Wien

here i am typing on the German keyboard in Austria where they interchanged the positions of the alphabets 'Y' and 'Z'. my hostel internet is still not ready and the reason i reckoned being that the office is only opened from 4pm till 6.30 pm.

oh! and shops here closes like at 5 everywhere. or maybe its just around my area?

anyway, what amy told me bout austrians are true: they are cold, and very cold to be precise, unless they know you, then they may, MAY, be nicer towards you. haha.

and the lockers here are weird! tried to lock them but the key just refuses to come out!

anyways. enough of austrians, wanna hear bout my room mate? haha. he's a great looking american with irish and austrian(which explains why he chose here) and has a GPA of 3.80

SMART and GOOD LOOKING.

oh, and he is very into sports: plays soccer, tennis and last night, he went jogging along the Danube for 3 miles! gosh.

SMART and GOOD LOOKING and SPORTY.

shall attempt to take a photo and post it here. haha.

oh, now, back to italy, italy was gorgeous, but i think travelling solo will be a better option sometimes. just like how Van said ater her trip with her fren: at the end of it, kindda glad that the duo is parting ways. Solo traveler has more freedom and i think i really like that kind of feeling! the sad side to that is opf cpurse having photos with me inside the frame is tough!

anyway, still freaking amazed at Kenneth for being able to do Rome in one day. And Van: 3 nights in Rome is too much! haha...

Really love Venice and Rome. Guess Italy is really ammazing cos they can have such drastic changes in their cities! the vibe and feel can be so different in other places! Not to mention Italians are SO gorgeous and SO helpful (unlike Austrians).

Florence was expensive though cos they charged for like every entry into a museum. but I was glad to have gone in cos Uffizi gallery is amazing! Managed to see Bortocelli's Birth of Venus! and also caught a glimpse of Michaelangelo's David in Accademia!

Didge#s Palace in Venice was superb too, but I guss Rome still trumps everything cos m,ost of the sights are FREE! and I managed to visit the Wedding Cake and Panthaeon(sic) .

Probably going to Schronbrunn with Tina later and currently awaiting for mz Austrian buddy to contact me (to show me ard Vienna tommorrow).

Photos will be up when i have internet in my hostel. Oh, and i finally had home cooked food last night when I made Squid Ink pasta (bought in Venice) in pomodora sauce and ommelette with ham and mushrooms.

Vienna is way cheaper than italy. same barrel of Necturines sell for 4 euros in Italy and only 1+ here! and these fruits are from italy to begin with! well, guess i just have to grin and bear with these unfriendly people here in order to stretch my dollar!

From my room in firenza

Hi everyone just when you thought i was gone i"M BACK AGAIN!!!

loanign my hotel laptop.. yes my one star hotel is that advance but not that adance cos" no ifra red port so no pictures =(

anyways, italy is so freaking hot this time of the year.and i wonderf why they call it autumn. oh, by the way, i juat wanted to update everyone on my shopping so far, like i was saying just now, i was at this blardy gorgeous place called the mall that is 30min away from the main florence city, and they had like gazilion brands there! i remember seeing armani (with every brand from the armani group), to valentino, to emanual ungaro(where i see a really gorgeous tee for 69 euros but alas, not in my size), and la perla (but too bad cos la perla uomo is not on sale!) and ferragamo, and of course, gucci, tods (including hogan), bottega venetta, and burberry.

bought a wool cardigan for myself and a silk top for my mum at burberry, a red bottega handbag for my mum again, a pair of tods loafers and gucci boots for myself. blew a total of nearly 900 euros in one day!

this sells for nearly 2K in singapore but i only paid 400+ euros for it at the outlet store! what a steal!

but sadly, tina decided to not buy any stuff there, ok, if she considered her la perla as stuff, ok, and she has her giorgio armani synglasses (at 59 euros, it sure fiuts her budget), and she's reminding me bout her other cheap
item from Fendi (a hankerchief)

oh, and today, i managed to gwt for myself a misonni sweater at 216 euros and and missoni look alike scarf for 28 euros! haha, so happy with my purchases!

post from firenze

hi all my dear readers! haha, i am in italy now and italy is so not as nice as they say! boring boring,. but the only thing interesting is this place called the mall off florence, i was in heaven there u noe! haha, bought 1 pair of tod"s loafers and a pair os gucci boots! haha, i was soooo thrilled, oh, i also bought a botegga venetta signature bag for my mum! how cool? haha, i also managed to buy a missoni sweater (from proper boutique in florence aND not OUTLET, K!)
